You aren't seeing double or adding incorrectly. Due to Hurricane Ida Floridians will be charged more at the pump. Gas prices in Florida jumped 10 cents, bringing the state to a new high this year of $3.10 per gallon. The price of crude oil increased as the Gulf of Mexico energy infrastructure is still recovering from Hurricane Ida. Most of the onshore oil refineries that went offline because of the storm have already restarted or are in the process of restarting.

AAA spokesperson, Mark Jenkins, said, along with the pump prices, rising crude oil and gasoline future prices are also increasing, as the price of crude increased by 4%. He also said that now that summer is over the strain in supplies will ease.
