Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said he accepts the COVID task force’s recommendation to make masks mandatory on campuses. The final decision on the matter is not expected until after the Miami-Dade School Board meets.

The COVID task force, assigned to come up with recommendations for the upcoming school year in Miami-Dade, agreed that masks are the way to go.The task force, which is made up of highly recognized medical and public health experts, were tasked with come up with COVID-19 protocol recommendations for the district. In the past, Carvalho has made it very clear that he will make these decisions guided by this group of experts and the science and not by political pressure.
