Miami Dade Offers $10 million Rent Relief Program for Coronavirus Pandemic

It goes without saying that this has been aIt goes without saying that this has been a difficult time for everyone especially with so many thousands losing their jobs here in South Florida Florida. If you’ve had difficulty paying your rent save the date for Tuesday, July 14th 9am. This is when applications will open to apply for Miami Dade’s $10 million rent relief program. Applications will remain open until Friday, July 17 at 5 PM. You can apply online by clicking here and paper applications are also available at a variety of locations listed on the Housing Department website.

To qualify, your household must:

  • Earn no more than 80% of the County Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Have a current lease signed by the landlord in Miami-Dade County
  • Not be a recipient of other rental assistance programs such as Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
  • Have documentation showing that COVID-19 has created a financial hardship and lowered the household income
